This policy explains what information Fogón (the "app") collects, how we use it, and what choices you have about it. Fogón is an app built to save and share recipes within your family, and we treat your data with that single purpose in mind.

1. What data we collect

When you create an account and use Fogón, we collect:

• Account data: your email, your name, and a password (which we store encrypted, never in plain text).
• Family data: the name of the family group you create or join, and the associated invite codes.
• Content you upload: recipes (title, ingredients, steps), cover photos for recipes and cookbooks, and your profile photo if you choose to upload one.
• Photos and audio for AI-assisted creation: if you use the feature to create a recipe from a photo (for example, a handwritten recipe) or a recorded voice note, that photo or audio is processed to extract the recipe's text.
• Product usage data: your experience progress (XP), level, and achievements unlocked within the app, generated by your own use (creating an account, creating a family, adding recipes, inviting members).

We do not collect location data or your phone's contacts, and we don't use third-party analytics or advertising tools within the app.

2. How we use your data

• To create and maintain your account, and your family's account within the app.
• To save, display and sync your cookbooks and recipes among the family members you invited.
• To automatically transcribe and structure recipes you create from a photo or a voice note.
• To show you your progress and achievements within the app.
• To respond to your support requests.

3. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising purposes. We use the following providers to operate Fogón:

• File storage: the photos you upload to your recipes and cookbooks are stored securely in the cloud.
• AI processing: when you create a recipe from a photo or a voice note, that content is processed using an AI service solely to extract the recipe's text. It is not used to train third-party models.
• Server infrastructure: where Fogón's database and backend run.

4. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and content while your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we delete your personal data and associated content, unless the law requires us to retain certain records for a longer period.

5. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information (you can also edit your profile from the app).
• Delete your account and personal data.

6. Security

Your password is stored encrypted (never in plain text) and communications between the app and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to your account is controlled through session tokens that expire and are renewed securely.

7. Children

Fogón is not directed at children under 4, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will reflect the change on this same page with a new "last updated" date. If the change is significant, we will let you know within the app.
